The blue eye Imagines after reading "The Four Agreements"

Would you ever have imagined that the world would shut down over a virus? It feels as though we are living in a sci-fi movie like “Contagion” turned nonfiction with COVID-19.

Someone on social media wrote about how this sounds like a story from a 4th grader. Because I once taught fourth grade, I agree. What do you think?

“And there was this virus and everyone was scared. And then the world ran out of toilet paper yeah, and then there was no school for like a month and then it snowed!!”

While I am not trying to make light of this horrendous pandemic that has isolated people at its least and taken livelihoods and lives at its worst, we must find humor to make it through. Since many of us have extra time, especially if we’re under stay-at-home orders, let’s take time to imagine a different future. We have been stripped of social outings and the busyness of constant activity. What will we discover in the stillness?

Humans staying home to reverse a pandemic

Humans staying home to protect the vulnerable

Humans staying home to work and learn and create

Humans staying home to stop the spread, together

Humans regarding grocery clerks & garbage collectors as *essential*

Humans spending extra time outside walking and riding

Humans zooming online to dance & sing with others

Humans shutting down their devices to play games

Humans discovering a world free from distraction

Humans discovering the beauty of nature and nurture

Humans discovering that love lights the path forward

Humans discovering that stillness isn’t so scary after all

Imagine, humans being…

Much of the above is what I have wished for, yet never imagined were possible. When COVID-19 finally disappears, what do you imagine our world to look like? How will the rainbow of humanity radiate after this deadly storm passes? We will be mourning the loss of so many lives…can we also imagine a wonderful way to honor their existence? I created a meditation video to help you connect to your light and spark your imagination.

Learn a bit about meditation and breathing at the beginning, or start at the 8 minute mark to begin the meditation. My youtube channel contains other meditation videos as well, so subscribe and see.

Note: In this meditation, I read an excerpt from don Miguel Ruiz’s book “The Four Agreements”. When I initially read his book, this description made me shiver with resonance and possibility. I am hoping that the same happens for you! Check out this book, as well as his others.
